Weekend top picks: AC/DC tribute band, barbecue festival, E.T. for Movie Night

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The events aren’t stopping after the Fourth of July; here’s what’s coming up this weekend.

Downtown @ Sundown: The free concert series this Friday features Highway to Hell and Ultimate Def Leppard (AC/DC and Def Leppard tribute bands). It’s all at Downtown Commons, 215 Legion St., on Friday, July 7, from 7-9 p.m. Chairs and blankets are welcome; however, pets, coolers, smoking/vaping or outside alcohol are not allowed. Food and beverage trucks will be on site.

BBQ: Sips, Dips, and Rubs: The free barbecue extravaganza event features sips and dips, and the chance to create your own blend for your next grilling adventure. It’s all happening at the Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library, 350 Pageant Lane, on Friday, July 7, from 3-4:30 p.m.

Movie Night: Join Montgomery County Parks and Recreation for a free showing of E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial. The movie will be played outside the Nature Center, and Driving You Donuts will be on-site for a sweet treat. The movie begins at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, July 8 at Rotary Park, 2308 Rotary Park Drive.
